Ad Industry Honors Marcus Thomas

Judge’s Choice, three Gold, five Silver and eight Bronze awards went to Marcus Thomas LLC for its client work in a number of categories in tonight’s American Advertising Federation (AAF) Cleveland ADDY Awards.

The “.01k Race Event” for Lifebanc received the Judge’s Choice Award. This unique event – a race that anyone could complete – drew attention to how easy it is to check the organ donation box. It was conceived and created “for less than the cost of a typical full-page print ad” and also won Gold and Silver ADDYs for its event poster. Marcus Thomas’ “Good Made Easy” poster, also for Lifebanc, brought home a Bronze ADDY.

The agency’s innovation in social media was recognized numerous times in this year’s ADDYs with a Gold for its “Sleep Naked” campaign for U.S. Cotton’s Swisspers and two Golds (Integrated Campaigns and Social Media Campaigns) for the “Krylon ColorMaster Challenge.” The Krylon ColorMaster Challenge also earned a Silver ADDY for its innovative banners, which delivered in-banner live video. The Buitoni “Pasta for All” Social Media Campaign – which leveraged the misstep of its chief competitor’s CEO – was recognized with a Silver ADDY, as was the Troy-Bilt 2013 winter social “Stake in the Snow” campaign. Marcus Thomas’ innovative mobile application for Dutch Boy – paintlist – was honored with a Bronze ADDY for Social Media – Mobile (phone app).

An elegantly designed website for APOC (www.apieceofcleveland.com), a company renowned for its handcrafted furniture built from some of Cleveland’s historic buildings, also earned the agency a Silver award.

The Tarkett Field Guide, Troy-Bilt Chipper Shredder point-of-purchase display, Akron Children’s Hospital “Kids Rule” brochure, Johnsonite “Full Line” brochure, and the “Don't Mess with the Pumpkin Pie!” full-page, four-color Consumer Advertising for LIBBY'S Pumpkin all received Bronze ADDYs.
