Marcus Thomas Gaining International Exposure for Social Media and Print Work

Cleveland, OHIO (May 6, 2013) – Work by Marcus Thomas, a $130 million integrated marketing communications firm based in Cleveland, has been holding its own on a national stage this year, taking home two global awards for clients Swisspers and Boys & Girls Clubs.

Swisspers and Marcus Thomas won Gold at the 2013 Ex Awards for Best Use of Social Media in the world, and The Boys & Girls Clubs was named a finalist in the prestigious New York Festivals International Advertising Awards.

Considered the world’s most sought-after trophy for experiential marketing excellence, the Ex Awards are organized by Event Marketer magazine and draw more than 800 entries from around the globe across 31 categories. Winners of the 2013 Ex Awards were announced at the 11th Annual Ex Awards Gala on May 6, 2013, in Chicago. Swisspers “Sleep Naked” campaign has also been a Facebook Studio Award finalist, named the Best Advertising Social Media Campaign by the Internet Advertising Competition, and two silver ADDY Awards at local and district levels.

The New York Festivals International Advertising Awards has been honoring The World’s Best Work™ in media for more than 50 years. With entries and jury members from over 70 countries, it’s the most diverse advertising awards competition in the world. Marcus Thomas took home a finalist certificate for graphic design of the Save Our Kids brochure. The Save Our Kids endowment campaign features the stories of seven kids to demonstrate how the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland are changing lives and helping kids thrive. QR codes in brochures bring kids into the room when board members present to potential donors, and infographics paint the picture with visual representations of numbers and statistics.
